Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were alerted by a resident who discovered a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then found multiple other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior official stated the vandalism left him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
